Fresh rebuild by a pro with decades of experience. I've known and worked with Keith for 40 years.

The crank is .010 under. Bores are .030 over. New valve guides and hardened seats so it can be run on unleaded gas. This was built from a Deluxe rebuild kit so it has all the new things. Both the head and deck have been cut. New studs and head bolts. I have a second gasket kit also.

Back story. I bought this '54 Clipper about 15 years ago. The motor started making a noise and I pulled the head off. I found that one of the pistons broke and the top was staying at the top of the bore but the skirt was still attached to the rod. Once the engine was torn down, Keith found that bore was damaged enough that we decided to sleeve it.

It's been 7 years. While the car was OK for it's age, the northern climate and took it's toll on the car before this. Sitting for all these years as made it to the point that getting it road worthy again will be a lot of work.

My focus in life has changed and am looking to move this along to someone who will appreciate it.

I have the complete car with a clean title. All the parts are there. The Ultramatic worked flawlessly when pulled.

Asking $3500 for everything. Including any spares and manuals. If you want just the engine, the price is $4000.

I also have a '48 288 that I would be willing to part with.

Located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Text Michael at 920-362-8402 You can call but I most likely won't answer a number I don't recognize. if you do that, leave a very clear and detailed voice mail.[PROCESSING IMAGE.... PLEASE WAIT]

Well I do have 5 kids that will need cars eventually...

Agreed, this is a great project for someone new to the hobby. With the engine being rebuilt that's one huge problem off the table. With the car running and driving, the body work and interior can come at a later date.
