Latest on the Motor Saga....
It finally went to the machine shop this week. At this point, having it available for any of the summer driver season isn't going to happen. Which is ok, as I am far behind on the body work. We've had a hot and humid summer that started early in June and has been relentless. Yesterday was the first day we have been able to turn our A/C off in nearly 2 months. Since the garage door is south-facing, the afternoons have been brutal. Add in a huge AI project I've been leading at work, and I am nowhere close to where I wanted to be on the car at this point. So resolved to keep moving forward on the body work. All four fenders still require different levels of massaging to restore them to good condition. ![]()

You need a little solar powered mini-split for your shop! I’m not sure if this is the one I was thinking of which was totally solar rather than hybrid but it’s the same general idea.

Left Fender now under way...
![]() ![]() ![]() This one wasn't rotten all the way out to the flange like the side. So I was able to retain the flange, which made for far less work in crafting the patch.

You can see where it has been crudly patched before with brazing.
Any steel that had been been contaminated with brazing has to be completely cut away. Welding any metal that was previously brazed is a splatter fest. It leaches into the metal and you never clean it away. I will have to do the same for the crude prior patch in the rear.

Got the other fender fitted to check the front shape before I metal finish the welds.
Also I wanted the fenders in place against the body, and lined up to body line, and with the rear mud guard/brace in place. This determines the spread/width of the rear portion of the fender. Both fenders have cracks at the bottom point in the rear. Getting the fenders in place, lineup, and the spread even needs to happen before I repair those cracks, as welding that area will lock in the spread/shape. ![]() ![]()

Thanks! Still tons to do, but slowly getting there.
I think I am going to try to remake the rear trunk filler panel. It's not right, and was replaced to match the custom stretched fenders. So now that panel needs to be remade again to make it match the original fenders.

Yes, for sure different. Here you can see how much more it was extended, and the change to the shape in general.

My pictures got mixed up to the text so I erased the reply, looks like you already have what you need.
