Are there any members in Iceland? We’re there at the moment, in Akureyri.

Thank you! I dropped a note to him although he’s some distance away in Reykjavik where we were last week but it never occurred to me to check for Packard owners here until we spotted a 1963 Cadillac 6-window Series 62 today.

Don (Packard Don), I wish you a pleasant and relaxing holiday in Iceland. Thanks for the picture of this obviously well-preserved 1963 Cadillac. Besides Sigurbjörn's 1955, there is at least one other Packard in Reykjavík. Do you happen to have a tuxedo in your holiday luggage?

To quote The Seattle Times: "This car has recently [in 2008] been restored and is occasionally used by the President of Iceland. A Packard was given to the President of Iceland by FDR, but the ship carrying that one to Iceland was torpedoed and that car was lost. So Iceland just bought another one."

Thank you, Gusha! It’s surprising that there were so many that even Nordic Packards PAC region apparently doesn’t know about them. This morning in Ísafjördur and again in nearby Bolungarvik to the north east far above Reykjavik we spotted a number of older car but nothing earlier than the ‘70s but the 1963 Cadillac, which I spotted from a tour bus and only got a glimpse, was worth a walk back to town later to photograph better.
