P.S. the 9N Ford tractor, 30 Model A, and 39 Packard all start just fine on 6 volts. The Mack, Edsel, and 58 Chevy all start fine 12 volts. I guess either one works just fine.

Man we had a 9N tractor about 15 years ago when i lived with the parents...had the high and low range selector! We restored it and actively used it to farm...real fun tractor

For the thread: I'm 27, current toy list:

50 packard (original except converting to six volt + ground alt and pertronix ignition)

50 chevy currently being hot rodded out with pontiac 455

2005 mustang (not near as fun as the other cars)

81 yamaha triple motorcycle

old inline 4cyl motorboat

I guess i'm waiting for some of you collectors out there to sell me some of your toys when you're too old to enjoy them

just poking fun! no offense!

Seems to be a interesting topic:
Im 25 years old, and have worked whit machinery since the age of 9! Hard to say what made me start to chouse this hobby, but I don't complain, Its fun and theres always something new to discover.Never will get tired of this.

Haven't had many cars, but a lot of motorcycles instead. All of them where made in the USSR.
Ok heres a list, maybe not that interesting for those how have american cars:
*GAZ 24 (currently on restoration, need rewelding, but can be saved)
*Moskvich 408 ( one of 2000 cars that where made in 1964,that was the year when they first came to production, the lowest
factory VIN anyone here has seen, rare barn find)
*VAZ 21031 (only 200 made of the model 21031 in 1975,I have proof If anyone wants to argue about it)
*Moskvich 2140 (the rustyest ride in my life, body was not solid, sold it for spare parts)

Whit the motorcycles I can not remember how many I have had.
No rareties among them.

Well there are cars from the USSR period I would like to
get like GAZ M20,GAZ 21,Moskvich 407, but these days they have become rare.
And still by all of this I like as much as I do like the USSR technic also the Packards,Cadillacs and Buicks etc have a special place in my hart.

I am 51 and have only owned a Packard for 11 years.
My first car at 15 years old was a 1952 Cadillac Coupe. My high school car was a 1966 Mustang convertible. I miss both of those cars.
I currently own a 1955 Clipper Custom that I 'repaired' everything on it.
I own a 1953 Patrician that needs work.
My new Packard is a 1940 160 sedan that I am currently rebuilding the engine. Can't wait to drive the 40.
My wife wants me to fix the 53 for her.
Have let my kids drive the 55 to prom without me!
Don't have any room for the 3 Packards, but we are having fun.

1969 Ford XL
1971 Mercury Cougar w/351 Boss Cleveland
1973 Buick Riviera w/455 Rocket
1978 Ford F-150 Econoline (purchased while in the Army)
1980 Ford F350 Super Club van w/460 bored over to 510 (Fast Gas Guzzler!)
1973 Datsun Crew Cab w/4 cyl diesel When this one gave up the ghost, it had over one million miles on it. What a trooper!
1988 Buick Lesabre
2006 Mercury Milan

1992 Ford Ranger (Cheap Driver)

Hoping to give the Ranger to my friend for 28 years and get myself another long-nosed something..another Cougar or a Continental Mk III would be nice.

I'm 52. Was introduced to Packards at a very young age (8 or 9 I think) and remember the Godess of Speed more than the 1st car. A few years later Dad had one, a 34 1101 Club Sedan w/rear mounted spare. After that we had a 35 1201 R/S cpe. I do everything, Fords, musclecars, racecars, but my passion is Packards. For me that stops at the 46-7 model years but that's not to say that there's nothing else about the rest that I like, just what I like most. I'm still in the resto biz, still specialize in 32-34s, still a bit of a speed freak too. Futher to that thought I have:

41 160 buisness cpe

47 Custom Super Clipper

34 1101 2/4 cpe (rear spare)

29 Custom Dietrich 640 Roadster soon for sale (hint, hint)

Non PMCs are:

61 Chevrolet Belair Spt Cpe (bubbletop)

54 Chevrolet 3100 PU (building as a chopped 'period' kustom)

90 Ski-Doo Mach 1

97 Ski-Doo Mach Z w/over 170HP (told ya I'm a speed freak!)

Just a boring car guy. Don't do much else but still have the grease on my heel for racing. It's a sickness, I know. The Packards are all projects and I plan to be busy on em for years to come. The 160 was a 20+year 'gotta have it' car that I feel I was fortunate to get. The Clipper in my opinion is one of those 'complete ideal' cars. Sexy roofline and windshield rake and arguably the best engine ever offered by Packard in that period. Exciting that the lil cpe has the same engine. The 34. Over all the years that Dad and I would just discuss the "what would you have..." during lunch breaks and just chillin at shows and such I always had the same answer...an 1101 coupe with a rear spare. Found it! I'm thrilled with it and it's coming home soon. Yeah, yeah, I know. I'll post pics and #s in the registry as soon as I get em settled in. The 160's already there. I'm not waxing on much about the 29. I love it but I'm not an open car guy. I want to restore it to perfection for someone and I feel it's a rare and significant car. Not many 640 Custom Dietrich Roadsters around.

Nice topic. I feel like I'm at a Packard meet or sumthin :D
