Gerd,

I think it's because the photo is embedded as part of the post and came with the post when I used the Quote button, and is not a file attached to the post like most photo's are.

Okay, one more guess. The structure on the truck is a bit confusing. I think there storage tanks and hoses going to the structure. It looks like something that would expand. Is this some kind of ladder truck?

John, thank you for the last attempt. To solve that riddle and understand the specific function of the truck seems anything than easy due to the particular location of its use. The driver's cab was barely encased by a homemade blanket of lead. Its drivers had a narrow observation slit to look through and a short life expectancy.

The pictured truck has been used to clear away the nuclear rubble of the Chernobyl disaster.

To obtain better results I should have chosen a Packard related riddle.

I would like to express my gratitude to the donators.

Gerd,

Besides protecting the driver, what that lead shielding did was to prevent PackardInfo people from deploying their deductive powers to determine the usage of the truck in question. A Packard related puzzle, while shrouded from the outset as well as PackardInfo's response times being much better now, should bring forth a wider response,.

Looking forward to the next one.

Gerd, is this truck going to be a featured attraction when the Chernobyl site is opened to tourists? Remember the "Atomic Packard" that was discussed a couple of year ago? Can't wait to see what is offered at the various souvenior shops. I have a bit of Trinitite from the 1945 Trinity Test in New Mexico. Is something like this going to be offered as a token for key chains? Seriously, thanks for the great puzzle and look forward to the next one.
