Well here goes my second attempt. Maybe resizing and posting from home will do the trick!

It was definitely worth the 800 mile round trip but it wouldn't be sitting on the trailer if I hadn't sold my boat 2 days before the pre-agreed on deadline. Now all I have to do to be able to register it with a correct YOM license plate is to convince the Florida DMV that it's a 1953 and not a 1952 as stated on the title.

Nice, looking car.
Where does the wire running across the firewall connect to?

I'll go out on a limb and say it's probably the wires to/from the Carter CarStarter switch on the carburetor. Packard still used the accelerator starter in '53 didn't they? Edit: Answered my own question... the wiring diagram for '53 shows the starter switch on the carburetor.

And I believe the blower motor is also in that section.

Ahhh yes. That's why I didn't recognize it. '54 has no carb switch. Also the heater motor wire is part of the front light harness that crosses over the radiator support.

With the 23rd series models the blower motor wire is in that bundle. It enters the bundle at mid-firewall and departs where the bundle leaves the firewall on its way to the carburetor.
