Packard Electric is still Packard. If they wanted to start building Packard refrigerators they could. So I think the idea that some car club owns the Packard name is pretty flimsy stuff. If they did they could sue for royalties. It's not much better than Donald Trump trying to trade mark "You're Fired." And while they are at it they can go after Hewlett Packard for brand association infringement.

I need to read Cormorant #131, but until then I remain very skeptical that the PMCC still survives today. Metaphysically the Company is arguably here, but I'm buying little else.

a bit off the subject:

What is the symbolism of the Swan on the coat of arms (n it is a Swan yes? or a Pelican. ) the four Teutonic crosses on the shield.
I have looked a bit but found nothing worth considering and I KNOW someone here knows...

It's a pelican. "A Pelican in her Piety" 13th century Christian imagery. You can read more here if you wish.

Or just Google the phrase and you'll find lots of references.
