How about using dynamic blocking tools, e.g. CrowdSec? Its base version is free and open-source for self-hosters. It works with global intelligence to block malicious IPs locally and share them with a global community.

I have started to not log in as much as I used to, because I've been using Netgear VPN. More often than not when I try to login while using the VPN, I get a message of "You are registered as BAD_IP by Protector. This restriction will be expired on 2025-08-28 10:13:52" The only way around this is to go turn off my VPN, log in, then turn my VPN back on.

Unless I'm trying to post something, and then I need to keep my VPN off altogether.

I’m not sure why, but I sometimes get the same message when logging in on my iPhone or iPad. This happens when on my home WiFi, but I don’t get the message on my Mac computer. Interestingly, if it happens on my iPhone, it also happens on my iPad at the same time.
