Thanks for the clarification and correction to your post. I am going to look at my 37 115C and 120C bumpers to see if I have any that have the extra curvature that you mentioned. I think I have 6 or 7 rears to look at.

1936 and 1937 120's Are what we like best. But we also like all other Packards too.

Do we have a factory photo of the 1937-115C with a trunk rack. I am currently working on installing of one and am curious as to the correct configuration of the bumper brackets.

Don't have factory photos of 115-C trunk rack and bumper brackets but do have some from a 115-C here in Oz which we did some work on.

Interesting to me it appears again that a second sets of holes where drilled in the bumper to allow use of the bumper guards. My 38 Super 8 has the square guards as displayed in one of the previous pictures. Would be interesting to see a factory photo. Does anyone have a source for a reproduction set of square guards?

Mal's photos look like a 120 style bumper with the Six bumper guards. Is this second 6-hole rear bumper, to allow regular bumper guards with the luggage rack accessory option, a coincidence? Perhaps it was the way a dealer installed rack was done? Is there a way to measure the distance between the bumper guard holes bracket holes on the car Mal pictured? I can get dimensions from my car. Or, is it that important?

If I'd known the question was going to come up, (have to polish the crystal ball a little harder in future, I guess?) I would have taken measurements and more pic's a couple of days ago when we at the 115-C owners house. The pic's I did post are from when the car was in the workshop back in August. As to the style of bumper, I don't know, all I can say is the car was restored some 15 or so years ago and some things on it are not as they should be.

The 1937 Packard Sales Folder illustrations for some of the 115C Models shows the bumper guards outboard of the trunk rack as on JW's car and the one in Australia.
I know that the sales folders are not always accurate for actual production since they are usually published in advance, but at least this lends some credibility to the way they are installed on the cars pictured.

After reading Brian's post, I looked at the 1937 sales brochure and accessories catalog for the junior cars. All illustrations and photos in those publications, that show the cars with the trunk and trunk rack option, depict 6-hole bumpers and conventional bumper guards. Actually, all cars are pictured with what looks to be 6-hole bumpers - with or without trunk racks. Can't explain the absence of 4-hole bumpers and the short caps/guards in these publications except that they do exist.
