I started the install one of the new vent window seals today.
You see those 2 small nuts in the first image. They are 11/32. I am not sure I have ever owned an 11/32 wrench. If I have it has been lost for a long time. The main (u-shaped) seal was not much problem. The old one came out easily enough and the new one went in with the help of some liquid dish soap. That flat seal that is installed with rivets is a different matter. Now I am researching tubular rivets. What I removed is .110 in diameter but no one seems to make them that small anymore. There are a couple that size but they are either way too long or the heads are too large. I am trying not to overthink this I can easily enlarge the holes in the frame and seal and just use slightly larger rivets. It is just another delay waiting for parts to arrive. Years ago I bought a Craftsman combination wrench set designed for distributor work and it has many 32nd sizes in it both open and closed. Search for Ignition Wrench set if you need one that size or possibly it can be purchased by itself.

Is there something on this site that lists and/or shows the needed window glass channels needed for the tops and sides of the movable windows?
I know Steel Rubber shows some of the sizes but was curious if anyone had collected this info previously. I am looking at you Howard. :)

Sorry Stewart. Bought all of my channel from Restoration Specialties in bulk but I never wrote down the numbers. I just measured what I had, looked in their catalog to find something that matched in size and then checked to see if it had a chrome edge bead on those pieces that needed one.
The hardtop curved quarter piece is a problem in finding something that works. Maybe you will have better luck but as I recall, I finally settled on a product Steele had which I think was something used on convertibles. It was a kind of adhesive backed tape with a fuzzy front. The adhesive is not that great and it wanted to bunch if the window rubbed against it too hard. With strong trim cement in spots and careful aligning of the window I was able to get it to stay in the channel.

Stewart are you talking about the rubber insert for the vent window, or something else?
I have pretty much a whole set of 55 400 rubber so I can share my numbers.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish. |

If you are talking about the run channels for the door windows, then I found some that work from Rubber the Right Way. Mine is a '54, but I believe the channels are the same dimensions for the '55-56.
If you need chrome/stainless bead for the front channel: 10-153X If your front channel does not have stainless bead (like mine):10-154X For the rear window channel down inside the door: 10-389X -Kevin

On my 56 Exec, I found that 10-153X would not fit. Rubber the right way will send you free samples for comparison
I found them very helpful. 10-136X is a match for the vent window division bar 10-148X is good for the window dust seals on doors & rear 1/4 window on body side 10-209X will work for door & window interior molding locations.
