I drove over to Al's today to see his Clipper up close and personal. He is putting in new headliner - the car looks great! He may be at the local cruise on Saturday - weather permitting.

Just a quick update last week 10/10/10 easy date to remember took my clipper out for first drive and car cruise one of the last of season along with best other no big problems being the first time I had driven my Clipper as all times before my brother had done the driving and I followed. Lots of comments I have since then received the bullets or bumper guards back from the chrome guy nice job and not to bad a price $180 for both. Still lot of little things to complete or adjust. Still waiting for the seat covering to be completed suppose to be done now Nov 1.

A update on this project on July 13 - 16 there was a Studebaker Avanti show in Gettsyberg Pa the first long trip my Clipper has been on must have done everything right or was lucky as the entire trip was trouble free. After returning from show received a package inside was a letter stating that we had been awarded 1st place in our class and a Boyds bear.
Then my seat set came from Phantom interiors they were a little late as I was promised 4-6 week for delivery back in March of 2010 arrived July 2011. They do look good had them installed on seats by local trim shop. they do look better and new foam and padding is much better.

Made a change to the clippers brakes as it had a single master cylinder decided to add dual master cylinder. There is a kit avaible from one of the Studebaker venders but decided I would do my own.
First a lot of research to find a master cylinder that would have lines on correct side and designed for drum brakes without metric fittings.
Found a AMC part that filled my needs fabricated bracket to mount using stock bolts holes in frame. Had to enlarge hole in floor to check new master cylinder fluid level.
Adapted the linkage with the aid of new clevis from McMaster Carr. Installed all parts I fabricated including the modifications to brake lines made new cover for floor bled brakes and driveway tested now waiting for nice day to road test the pedal feels good.
Prior to this I had the Hydrovac rebulit and recjhecked was not satisfied with resukts thats when I decided to make change. I installed a manual brake pedal linkage as the power and standard brakes use different linkage.
