Tearing the back bumper off!?!?! That sounds like my kind of good time!!
Is the theory that it squats down so hard it catches the bumper or what?

I know my '51 won't but suspect my '55 can - at least in the GS range. Haven't tried to. I guess I feel that since my TU works reasonably well with no leaks after sitting for 30 years I've used up all the luck I'm due in the transmission dept.

Sorry it took so long to get back. Comcast's cable has been down since last WEDNESDAY...grrr..
Anyway, here ya go   You can clearly see the right rear laid down a nice patch of rubber. Since it's been raining you really can't see the other 20 feet of rubber on the asphalt. You ask " How do we know it was 40 feet or rubber" I know because that's how far I had to winch it to get it on the trailer of the guy who bought it. The right rear brakes were locked up and put up quite a fight until the bitter end.

As far as "tearing the back bumper off" on jackrabbit starts with a TL equipped car, the rear of the car generally lifts on such a start rather than squatting.

Well now I know I could win a pretty healthy bet about how long a strip of rubber I can lay versus any Corvette.
Have the 'Vette go first and lay down the longest, most squealing strip of rubber it can. Then drive the Packard 500 yards beyond the end of it, turn around, floor it, and about 20 feet before the end of the Corvette's strip, slam on the brakes and slide it all the way past the start of his line. Measure the rubber, boys.
