I drove a Chaika at 95 mp/h one and a half hour long at a delivery voyage. It was a 1980's car. The customer, a band that is known for their pyrotechnic performance and theatrics is using the car down to the present day.

I can't beat Paul in Las Vegas story (which I related above), but in 1999 I drove my 55 Pat and my 1972 Eldo from Las Vegas to Reno for "Hot August Nights", a really big car show (4000+ cars). That is 420 miles one way. We drove both cars at very high speed (85+) the whole way in 100F+ temps. The Pat did much better than the Eldo, particularly on some of the relatively rare uneven road sections (due to the performance of the T-L).

A modern car would be hard pressed to match that. I've posted before how good these V-8 cars are at high speed.

The highest I've driven my '55 Four Hundred thus far has been 60 mph. I must add, however, that I've only put a little over 300 miles on it in the year since I purchased it and I'm still working out some bugs and gaining confidence in driving it longer and longer distances. Both my wife and I are pleased with the '55's ride at higher speeds and over back roads.

I have never been in a Packard, so my speed record is 0mph, though I would die for a ride in a T/L equipped one on a bumpy road!
