I finally found the flamingo fender skirt from my old 400. I will post a photo tomorrow. I believe Brian is correct, that is not flamingo color. It is almost for certain scottish heather.

It reference to the car above that had it's root in Victorville, CA (High Desert of Calif). That is where I grew up and lived up there for 20+ years. I can tell you that it is bone dry up there, single digit humidity, and the summers are very hot 110-115. So that type of heat bakes paint and interiors. I had a car painted in the early 90s a solid non-metalic color and within 4 years it was faded so badly it needed a repaint. It turns colors much lighter and chalky.

My experience has been that reds will usualy turn more of a faded orange than anything that resembles pink. I have currently in my possession a paint job over 30 years old of DuPont acrylic red laquer (somewhat of a dark red) . I also have some of the original paint still in the can that i tried to use to touch up with about 5 years ago. The paint on the bike had turned nearly orange compared to the red in the can after it was sprayed onto the fender.

But would we expect door jams and glove box jam to oxidize or fade equal to the exterior weather exposed fenders????

Something else odd is the white hood and 'pink' trunk. Also looks like hood has a "Clipper" script at the front of it.

Would that be a chrome heater control bezel???? Maybe shadow of "Caribean" on the hood instead of "clipper ".

Packard's Scottish Heather is not a pure red, but has a bit of blue to it. It is similar in appearance to the flower of its namesake plant, but more red than purple.

My Caribbean Hardtop is White/Heather/Gray (MKN) but the middle color as shown in my avatar and Owner Registry images is way off.

Hinge pillar color is much darker than the rest of the car - clearly not "pale pink" as described by the Trade Letter.

Patrician, Four Hundred and Caribbean all had chrome-plated heater control bezel; Exec used painted heater control bezel - like Clippers. The car shown above is a Four Hundred.

Hood script is clearly Clipper; none of the Senior hoods had any script plate. Carib had faux scoops - in lieu of hood bird.

I own the "Flamingo" car now, but the paint code is MK. But I'm sure the colour is Flamingo! It has a clipper hood , and also came with a clipper rear bumper.
Gary said it came from Lucern Valley and had been sitting in the Mojave desert for a while. The shipping document I bought on ebay says it was trucked originally to Elyria OH, hence the underseat heater and no aircon.
