Just hook the Pos to Pos and Neg to Neg, the 12v will spin the 6 v starter alot faster so you dont want to leave the cables hook up long.

Make sure you lights are turned off before you do that otherwise you burn up all your light bulbs

If you open the door while hooked up... you can probably figure on replacing the underdash courtesy lights.
