My wife's grandmother (91 yrs old) has a 1929 Minerva hood ornament she wants to know its worth. She says it's brass with German silver. Any help is appreciated.

There are at least two different hood ornaments (actually radiator caps + ornament) offered by Minerva around 1929. I'll speculate that it it's truly an original (replicas abound) and in really fine condition it's value would be somewhere north of the cost of an outstanding quality reproduction. With the cap, reproductions with cap range from about $900 to $1200.

But you'd be far better off speaking with Minerva owners (there aren't that many) than with Packard folk.

As O_D said, "...you'd be far better off speaking with Minerva owners (there aren't that many)...".

Found this Minerva Website but it doesn't look there's much action there but could be a starting point.
