Greetings All,

Is there anyone reproducing the intake/exhaust manifolds as mine has some cracks and another tab ready to break off? Got a price today to have it repaired but found it to be quite high and no guarantee that it won't crack during the welding process.

Thanks
Gene

I had a hairline crack in mine repaired but it was a very specialist job which involves some bronze alloy brazing

The problem is firstly that its cast iron which is very hard to weld/braze and secondly the "thermal cycling" which makes the material more brittle over time.

Does anyone know of a business that restores the manifolds with the porcelin/ceramic coatings. I remember seeing one several years back but can't remember the name.

Hi Eugene:

My files show the following outfit which hopefully is still operating:

Columbus Col Weld

1515 Harrisburg Pike
Columbus OH, 43223

614-276-5303

They are not a discount operation either. I sent them work and they did it right.

As for porcelain there is a place called Prairie Porcelain, but I never used them because no deductions are being made anymore over porcelain and there are powder coats that hold up as well and, while not as shiny, do not run the risk of damaging that old cast iron.

We do have one available. You would need to call our Packard Dept.

Sorry that was my mistake. I had taken a bunch of photos for various customer inquiries this morning and mixed up the photos. Here is the correct one.

Thanks
James
