defrost/defog?

My '37 120 sport coup is pretty much complete and unmolested, but I have a hole in the dash that I'm not sure what it is or what covers it up. I've tried looking at the classifieds online but haven't seen one yet.

Well this looks bad. I guess I found the answer to my own question. So part two is does anyone know a source for this Defroster vent?

I thought someone was reproducing them, but just looked in the cormorant and didn't see any. Don't despair, there is a flat metal cover that screws in place on non-defrost cars that is likely available, or could easily be fabbed. The Flackmaster would likely have additional information.

Does your heater have the defrost option on it?

You might check out Classic Accessorieshttp://www.classicaccessories.org
They currently show some cover plates that might be appropriate but also say inquire about other heater/defroster items. I believe I remember one of the small blower assys on their site not too long ago so might have a vent.

The person who was reproducing the defrost "scupper" passed away some years back and to my knowledge no one picked up and continued the project. Though there may be a current source I'm not aware of any. Kanters or Max might have bought some inventory when they were available, worth an inquiry. You might also check with Patrician Industries, I seem to recall seeing one in their wares at Hershey last year.

The ones I've seen matched the color of dash area that they're fastened to. It looks like a deep brown color, almost black.
