Just a lame and lazy magazine article to compare a Lincoln 2-door hardtop with a Clipper 4-door sedan. As all here know, they should have used the Clipper hardtop, as it is a very different looking car than the sedan.
With the Torsion Level suspension option, the Clipper is a far superior luxury car. With overdrive and set up for the drag strip, it was also a faster/quicker competitor than the Lincoln. A bit OT, but there's a Clipper hardtop sitting in front of a wrecking yard fifty miles from here. Now the snow is gone, I'll try for a photo. (Don't tell anyone, but just as a styling exercise, I prefer the Lincoln.) jack vines

Don't forget the 52 -54 lincoln's were road racing the Carrera Panamericana race in Mexico. Did pretty well also.I know Ford had a lot more money to spend than Packard.

Did not like the placement of the battery of the Lincoln, under the right floorboard.
