Smaller 8-cylinder engine of 320 cubic inches came in two models 626 and 633, having wheelbases of 126 and 133 inches respectively. Larger 8-cylinder engine of 385 cubic inches came in models 640 and 645, wheelbases of 140 and 145 inches respectively.

G'day Danniel,
to PackardInfo. And, when you've identified your '29 Packard, I invite you to include it in the Packard Owner's Registry.

Looks like a 626 5 passenger sedan. You can confirm by measuring the wheelbase. The main external difference between the 626 and 633 is in the side windows. The rear side window on the 626 is smaller than the two windows in the doors whereas on the 633 the rear side window is about the same size as the other two. The 633 has folding rear seats making it a 7 passenger, the 626 does not have those folding seats.
The 626/633 cars were the first year of the smaller 8 cylinder engine replacing the previous 6 cylinder models. The engine bay was not enlarged so the 8 is a tight fit. The main external difference with the 640/645 cars apart from the longer wheelbase is hinged doors on the hood sides on the 640/645 cars and vent flutes as on yours on the smaller standard eights. Good cars, I have a 633 which is mechanically identical to the 626.
