Pretty sure that's either a retroencabulator or a phi-M dejunctor

Where do the red wires go?

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

The wires go through the firewall into a spaghetti of other wires. Since it appears to be connected to the SUs I was thinking some kind of electic choke or something

New wire harness ordered. I'll feel better after I've done through all writing personally. Right now is a hodgepodge of non-packard wiring and misc unlabled toggle switches, which I have no idea what they control.

The vendor also caries asphalt impregnated flexible loom, which I am going to use for the wire run under the car that feeds the tail light section.

A bit of a correction. We managed to positively ID the motor. It's a 3.8L XK Jaguar Mark 2 - 1959-67, with a "B type" cylinder head, painted dark blue metallic, 2 × SU HD6 carburettors. Rated 220bhp.

Also, as silly as it may sound, I went through and cleaned and conditioned all the good leather in the car. This included the door panels, package tray and rumble seat. Most because they were rodent soiled and I really have this thing against hanta virus.

They cleaned up pretty decent. Also the rumble seat floor carpet is too bad either.

So when the car arrived to me, it had no brakes. The car was moved from Indiana to Nashville and at that time it had a stuck wheel. So it was freed up before going on the transporter from Nashville to me.

So, I'm no brake expert, but I'm pretty sure that there is supposed to be brake fluid in the master cylinder.

So I trudged off the parts store for brake fluid. Back with brake fluid, I filled up the master and gave it a few pumps. Which I was the meet with a squinting noise. So a quick look under the car and there is a puddle near the back driverside tire. So crawled under the car.... pretty sure that the brakes work better when the brake line is connected. The line was broken open to free the stuck wheel after which all the brake fluid decided to stay in Nashville.

So after a quick bleed I have brakes. But the hardlines are pretty crusty and the old fluid the came out with the bleed was pretty rusty. So as expected, it will need a full brake-ectomy before going back on the road.

A little steel wool and some lacquer thinner, I was able to find some original paint. Appears to be a dark gray.

Lastly since the tires were a subject of conversation, I cleaned them.

I'm really enjoying your progress and surprised to see how clean the rumble seat came out.

Replacing all the rubber bits is important on any car that has sat for a while. Things harden, dry out or in the case of hoses, often close up, then no brakes! Rebuild all cylinders and replace hoses, flush out old fluid and then put in synthetic which will last a lot longer! Don't forget to replace the brake light switch too if it's the hydraulic type.

That does look a lot nicer with the tires cleaned up. It may have been the cell phone camera making them look larger. The small lens definitely messes with dimensions.

What is your plan for the body? Keep it as is, or are you going to clean it up and expose some of the original paint? Repaint everything?

It will eventually get repainted. There is really no original paint left on the fenders. Also other items like the headlights are different colors as they came from different cars.

There is some rot in the panel between the door and the rear fender at the bottom. That rot extends into the floor behind the panel. I guess this is a common rot area on these models. So I'll have to patch in some panels there.
