Removing Spare Tire on 1937 120 4 Door Convertable

I am replacing the Hood and Cowl Lacing, and it looks like I will need to remove the headlights and the spare tire in order to install properly. Is it as simple as loosening the bolts on the bar and removing the tire? I have not tried yet, as I want to be sure there is not a "hidden step". Thoughts appreciated!

Owner's Manual may be helpful. Look it up in the Literature Archive on this site.

Thank you. Yes I have the owners manual for the 1937 Packard 120, and it does not reference or guide for this task.

I hope I’m not over simplifying this. If I’m understanding your question, you’re just asking how to remove the spare from the sidemount. If that’s correct, just pop off the hub cap. That will expose the holder/bolt. Remove that bolt and your wheel/tire will come right out.

I dont think it is neccesary to remove the chrome bar but it has one large nut on the bottom under the fender and a hard to get at nut under the dash. Use masking tape and rags to prevent scratching the paint when lifting the wheel, It will shift on you while you are lifting it out.
