I just order them from the local NAPA store, it's a common 6 volt battery, you shouldn't need the Group# but I can get it for you if you do. Usually have to wait for next-day delivery for it.

Some have mentioned farm and tractor places as carrying them but haven't looked so can't say. They are available from the antique battery places but can't give a recommendation of any since I have not had great luck with longevity on various sizes for other cars.
Here is a place offering a commercial version that looks as if it might work. Specs and size look good but unknown as to terminal location vs original or quality. staabbattery.com/product/320.html EDIT: Napa might be a good option although their website came up empty when doing a search.

JW,
I think 41-47 share this same battery. Numbers for this style battery that I have recorded are: 3EH at farm stores Delco 7210 NAPA 7210 The farm store battery 3EH is tyically 10% less in CCA rating than the expensive ones -- though personally I have used both successfully. DanL

The size is "2E". NAPA or any good parts store should be able to get one in 24 or 48 hours Regards John Harley

The size appears to be almost identical -- within a quarter inch width and length almost same between the 2E and 3E. Height is higher, but CCA is considerably larger with the 3E so if it fits in the holder, that is the way I would go.

I have a 4EH battery in my Super Clipper. It fits the battery hold down very tight but has about 850 CCA.

I have used tractor batteries from Farm King stores for many years. The only problem that I encountered was the battery hold down was too narrow to fit over the top of the battery. I resolved this problem by removing the two long straps on the hold down and moved them from the inside of the hold down ends and reattached them to the outside of the end pieces. After the modification the hold down will still work on the original size battery.

Et Al: Most helpful, thanks. I'll post something on the parts cross reference section.
