Hard Rubber Threshold - How to Remove?

Re 1950 Packard Standard Eight -- Does anyone know how to remove the hard rubber door thresholds?

I've tried prying upward without success. Plus I am very concerned about cracking the thresholds if I pry harder.

Whatever is holding them in place seems to allow movement from side to side, yet I'm still unable to remove them so that I can deal with some surface rust.

They have hooks of a sort. I THINK you remove the stainless 1/2 round molding at the edge of the floor and slide the threshold inwards.

Thanks Fred. Your method seems spot on. I'll try it tomorrow. Regards, John

John,
See these are your first posts, so to PackardInfo.

Can't help with your question, rather on another tack, I invite you to include your '50 Eight in the Packard Owners Registry.

There are clips that are part of the stepplate that attach into holes in your rocker panels. If you have rust issues, good luck. Photos attached.

they pry up from the scrapper( steenless steel strip which is screwed down under the step plate) if you work a tool under the inside corner you can get one end started and work your way across the inside edge- all most enposable to get up with out damaging the corner-good luck
