This link from Ark-La-Tex Packards, thanks Todd. A number of Packards and their owners are enjoying the event.

Wow! What a cool blogpost.

Could not help but notice a comment from Bill Shipp on Day #6 - Start of the Race, "I believe I have been taking my vacations in the wrong place! Northern Michigan is off the charts beautiful!"

I heartily agree, that is why I am asking the PAC to allow Motor City Packards to host the Henry B, Joy Tour in Traverse City/Leelanau County, Michigan in September, 2015.

That 1941 120 convertible coupe in the Great Race is owned by Ted Stahl. Coincidentally, I rode in that car during a driving tour in the Traverse City/Leelanau area that MCP had for our members in September 2011. If you come to the 2013 PAC National Meet our early bird event on Sunday, June 23 will be an Ice Cream Social at his 125+ car collection.

I hope to catch up with the Packards as they come into Greenfield Village on Sunday.

THe link supplied in post 1 above does not give any schedule for the great race. I went to www.greatrace.com and it gives no schedule. " Contact Us" icon allows a question to be asked but NO icon to click send. KInd of strange.

EDIT: i found one schedule for the north/ north-east states. But that's all. I thot it occured thru out the entire US.

The Great Race came to my home town for a lunch stop. Truly awesome. There are four Packards in this year's race: 1916, 1936, 1941 and 1951 models. Talked to most of them and they are excited to compete. Catch the photos and blogs through the website. Was proud to see fellow Packards in the race as I have a '38 Eight that could make that run. The Grand Champion from last year and doing okay this year is from my town of Fairport, NY.
