51 Patrician 400 hood ornament base wanted

Thought I would through this out there and see what I could find. When I bought my Patrician last week, there was no hood ornament. After getting the car home, I found the Cormorant in the back seat with no base. Shakin the bushes to see if anyone has one they would like to let go. It doesn't need to be show quality. A decent pitted driver will do. Just trying to get the car as "complete" as possible before Salado. Thanks in advance for replies.

Regards,
HotRod

Hey HotRod,
You might try giving John's Salvage a call. I wouldn't be suprised if he has it. Here's the link to his site:http://johnssalvagecompany.com/

I'll have it in Salado along with the bottle openers. You should have your taillight lenses tomorrow. DAF

Thanks for the info GearRat. It's nice to have multiple sources for our cars. By the way.....you're putting a 200 together, right ? I've got a complete 51 200 body if you're looking for one. Make ya a good deal on it. I noticed in your pics that you had some serious cancer in the trunk area. If your interested, I'll shoot you some pics. The only rust through that I've seen on this car is the rear lower quarter panels.

Yeeee Haaaaa ! I think that most would agree in the Longhorn state, driving these back roads in Texas, the potential's are enormus ! I get whiplash driving and spotting back yards with vehicles from the past. It's crazy how much Americana iron is out there.

Yep, Ken (Kens53) was right, Texas appeared to have had a large Packard Following with all that oil money out there. You ran across any with cattle horns mounted on the hood? Years ago, my BIL and I used to make runs up to Georgia looking for old iron...we were into pick-ups and panel trucks back then. Panel trucks doubled as anything from storage sheds to chicken coups but they could be had for cheap and were plentiful but those days are gone...let's see

If I could calculate the fuel costs based on the 6" map view then I might be able to afford the trip.
