Others know better than I do but the photo below shows how NOT to do it! I discovered this yesterday on my 1951 Henney-Packard where it was run below and dragging on the chassis rather than through the hole above.

This is great. Now, do you have anything on how it is routed into the passenger compartment? Does it come up between the lower firewall and body, or through one of the holes in the upper firewall? I am suspecting the former myself.

It doesn't. You're looking at the place where the side rail and the center cross X come together but the other side has the same thing so not a point as it appears!
