PGS41 wrote: Has anyone restored the Running boards on a 1941 120?.....Any info would be of great help. Gregg, I'm currently doing the boards on my '41 120 with Rhino pickup bed lining with mixed results so far. Have a look at my Project Blog "Wade's Workshop"packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=2179&forum=10 Page 12, from post #231 onwards. I've also had advice and many pic's from Dave Mitchell of his '41 1905 Bohman & Schwartzpackardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/registry/View.php?ID=324 on which he had the running boards covered by Rhino pickup bed lining, see pic below, with great success. This is what I'm aiming for. a '41 110 currently on eBaycgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... &sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#v4-36 has had the boards re-done but it looks like they are the glued on type, pic below. And on the AACA Site, there are/were a pair of reproduction covers for a '41forums.aaca.org/f135/41-42-running-board-rubber-complete-270553.html but they are for a 138" wheelbase car but could be cut down for a 120 or 110. When I get my boards back again I'll update the Wade's Workshop blog. EDIT - Having trouble getting the pic from eBay to post but if you look at the pic's in the eBay listing you'll see what I mean.

Thanks for all the great information!!! I called Mr. Hunley Acuff
1423 Wilson Rd Rossville, GA 30701 706-866-4875 and he vulcanizes rubber to the bear steel running boards. Will cost about $1200.00. Does anyone know what the cost of the Rhino product is?

PGS41 wrote:......Does anyone know what the cost of the Rhino product is? Gregg, Doing my boards the first time with Rhino cost me AU$220.00 about US$200.00 at current exchange rates. It's going to cost me again for the second lot of hole filling and coating but if you do it right the first time and have the excess holes filled there wouldn't be any extra cost for you. Then there's the manual effort to rub back the Rhino, cost of various grades of paper, and your time to do a good job. I also refer you to Keegan's post in the Wade's Workshop Project Blog, see below. Contacting Keegan by PM may give a better idea of likely actual costs in the USA. Quote: Keegan wrote: Mal - I actually own and run a Rhino Linings shop here in MN. I've sprayed dozens of running boards for local builders here............Let me know if you've got any questons regarding rhino........Keegan And Noel here in Oz is sending his '41 160 boards to Hunley Acuff to be done. He also had his '39 120 boards done by Hunley some years ago and they are very good.

In my opinion, Rhino lining is the only way to go. Also, a lot less expensive than $1,200. Follow Dave Mitchell's instructions and you will have boards that look perfect.

Oh, thanks!! That sounds soooo much better than $1200.00. I can do the sanding, no problem. I will contact Keegan.
