I had a vibration. I found that my pressure plate was missing a spring!
1937 115C inline six, Three speed ! I bought a online rebuild it is physically different? The original has grooves the online purchase has a solid clutch material. The hub dimensions are different, the online disc is about a quarter taller on bench side by side. The center hub is different as well.
Is it possible that I received a disc for a inline eight/ overdrive??? My research indicates a 9.5" disc. That's what these are. Thanks Dave

Thank you for entering pic's. Dave. What do I have here ? Does anybody know why Packard used this and in what car ? Thank's. Dave

I have two 1940 110 clutches and both are exactly like the upper photo, with the solid clutch material. I recently sent one clutch to be rebuilt, and they said they had some of the original style solid clutch material to use for the rebuild. So I got it back looking exactly like it did. Also, both clutches had the PACKARD script engraved into the center hub. My 120 clutch is not out to look at that though. With this knowledge, I would say the upper photo is PACKARD, the lower photo is an unknown.

Is the 37 engine/trans original? If so probably not involved unless something was swapped over the years. If by chance it is a later engine/trans, Packard had supplier issues in 40 and used two completely different clutch and pressure plate combinations which were not interchangeable. They moved back and forth between Long products and Borg and Beck. It is possible the questioned plate could have still been Packard but was one of the substitutes needing a different pressure plate.

Here is ware I stand now , I have purchased a disk from kanter to see what I have. My running gear is original . I will post on how I make out. Thank you all for your help and replies... Dave
