windshield trim installation

In the process of re-assembling the '54 convertible, I had a glass installer come to put the new rubber on the windshield and put the glass back in. I can't see how the trim is installed; neither the molded trim that is continuous with the trim at the belt line or the trim surrounding the sides and upper W/S. Anyone have experience with this , or suggestions?

The stainless outside trim is held by a combination of slots in the rubber weatherstrip and by clips which have a stud that goes thru the weatherstrip and are held by nuts on the inside. You can check out the body section of the 51-4 service manual for some photos and a description of installation. Use the 26th series instructions located toward the end of the body section for your 54.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/servicemanual5154/Body_XIX.pdf

Check my project blog on this as I show how I reinstalled my windshield and the trim. Dish soap and a piece of 14 gauge wire will be your friend for reinstalling that trim. Also, if you used a new seal, then you'll have to drill the holes for any of the locations where the trim has fasteners that extend through the seal.
