The guy with the 54 conv. (5479) that had the incorrect 327 from 1951 year wants $44K!!!! That car with the correct 359 won't bring that from what I've seen. Am I being to harsh?

No. U're just disappointed that's all. Help him try to sell it for the $44K!!! If and when he gets tired of trying to get richh off of it at least u'll be first in line to find out.

However, usually such situations are best just to forget about it and move on.

I'm not too surprised. As long as folks are using NADA or similar guides as their source of information, these are the prices they expect to get.

NADA:
1954 Packard Convertible w/o Air w/ Ultramatic
Low Retail: $20,090
Average Retail: $44,100
High Retail: $97,000

Considering the very high premium for a non-rusty convertible... the seller might get $44K depending on condition (not from me).

We are living in a free market economy. Everyone is free to offer, nobody is obliged to accept. Thank goodness!

Yah, I don't quite understand the gripe, either.

The gripe is that the original poster doesn't think that people are entitled to their own opinion.

The real problem in these forums and in life is that some people think they are entitled to their own facts

Unless it's not for sale. Then it's worth a penny more than what someone would pay.

West,

A penny for your thoughts I see, but let me put in my two cents. Already you see that my opinion is worth twice what yours is. Case closed.
