See the auction contains this '53 Caribbean Covertible. Wonder if if differs much from a '53 Caribbean Convertible?

Ahhh... another celebrity-owned Packard. At least that's the rumor.
Of course no idea where all those colors came from. But one thing's for sure... that's not a factory top. Black Haartz canvas was not used-and even if it was, the wild and bizarre header bow welting with red piping is just over the top. And the rear bow stainless trim replaced wit a red wire-on? Can't imagine even Perry wanting it like this. But an interesting car. Let's hope it finds a good new home.

Kind of a shame for it to come to this, but all things must pass I guess.
About 10 or 12 years ago Motor City Packards (PAC) visited the museum. We drew such a large crowd and had so much fun that we visited it again two years later. It was much more than a storage building for Bill's cars. It had decorated display, full stories about each car an plenty of mural-sized photos of the company during the "good times". You could tell he put a lot of effort into collecting the cars that he and his father build the bodies for. A real piece of Packard history in Owosso, MI.

A green engine in 1953?
Perhaps some 53 Caribbean owners can comment.

Not the correct color. Should be grey. Having said that, I am the third owner of my '53 and the engine was green when I purchased it. I don't know the complete story about it as I bought the car from the previous owner's estate.

I understand that the engine should be grey, however my 53 Caribbean also had a green engine. Even the motor mounts were and bell housing were green. Someone had painted over most of it with grey paint. Where they could not get to easily it still was green.
