kamstilla,
Welcome to the site, you'll find plenty of knowledgeable and experienced Packard people here who are willing to help and give advice. A couple of Packard parts vendors are Kanterkanter.com/ and MaxMerrittmaxmerrittauto.com/ If you haven't already done so could please you add your '51 and '53 to the Owner Registry with pictures, and histories if known?

Also most tune-up and brake parts can be found at Napa. Take a looks in the Part X-ref database here on the website for the cross over.

Do we get a "hint" as to what KIND of parts you are looking for ? For "service" parts, meaning parts that are typically replaced during and as a part of normal maintainence, you apparently are not aware of how much you can get "off-the-shelf" (or, at the worst, over-night) from any of the major auto parts stores.
For example, EVERYTHING to go thru my '38 Packard V-12's brakes is avail. - because 1 ton trucks that have "drum" brakes have the SAME parts ! NAPA has Pacakrd V-12 distributor points and condensors! Generator brushes ! Gasket material. Bearings for the water pump and generator. So - if I can get it for my old "dog", bet you can find LOTS more stuff for your much later car. Give us some hints, and I bet these guys will come up with some ideas for you.

The local PAC club in the Houston, TX area is The Lone Star Packards. Their website is:
lonestarpackards.com/ There are a number of post war technical experts in the club and several who have access to used parts. If you are not a member, please join. It's the cheapest technical support and social enjoyment bargain that can be found.

Again thanks for the insight. I'm new to car restoration and preservation. I bought my first Packard as a project, something that i could help teach myself basic mechanics and body work. Admittedly I'm not mechanically incline but I love the oldies and I know that "Nothing is worth having if you can't build it yourself." My intention were to build a 50's style low rider, but after driving my 53 Packard around and being stopped at every gas station, corner store, stop sign and even in my yard. I realized how special this car is. Not just because its an old car that still drives with the original motor but as a testament and reminder that the past (although seeming forgotten) is alive and well and is constantly wanting to be a part of our lives. I know now that the past lingers in the corners of our hearts. I can see it when i speak to people and listen to the many stories about their parents or an old neighbor who had or wanted a Packard. I see how the old feelings and memories fill their eyes while they look over the old car. My Packard is a visual time machine transporting them back to happier times and trivial forgotten moments that are like diamonds now that age has bleached them almost from memory.

But.......I see you have an entry for a '56 with scant information and a picture of what looks like a '53. Is this entry correct? If not, can you fix it? Or if it needs to be deleted BigKev can do that.
