Could there be some confusion surrouding the terminology being used?
![]() OP talks about a "carb heater unit" or "Canadian carb heater link" which has brought blank responses. Could what he's referring to be the "Stove Box", for want of a better term, that connects between the exhaust and intake manifolds? This provides heat to the carb on cold start ups. Maybe this is the mysterious "Canadian carb heater link"? ![]()

Start with David Flack (Flackmaster). I actually have one that I just got from him, but I’m in need of it myself. Definitely, start with David. If he doesn’t have it, it looks like Max Merritt has them. Here is a photo of what you’re looking for. ![]()

Finally seem to have got the correct description for rusted out part and will order from Max Merritt, but before I do the 'beauty rings' you mentioned. Do they fit around the vertical sides of the spare wheel covers and where can I buy them as the MM site shows no reference to them? Thanks. Chris

The beauty rings just snap on. They really don't need to be Packard specific. They generally come in two styles, smooth and Ribbed. I think smooth are more correct. They are sold based on rim size and depth.
Many aftermarket sellers of them. Including many of the vintage Ford vendors. ![]()

No drama, choke included, heat riser flap in the closed position...I wouldn't mess with it. $436.120 which is under market, as I am sympathetic to the shipping cost. Will look for gaskets at your further interest, including the gasket between the intake and exhaust.
