I believe Jerome Hardy was the founder of and is still the Director of The Packard Automobile Club de France. I've met Jerome a few times, just recently here in NJ for lunch. I'm sure he can be helpful or steer you to others in France who can help, though as I browse the cars listed as owned by members of the French club, I see none that take the same battery as your car calls for. Even so, it should still be very worthwhile to make contact.
Try <jerome.hardy@classiccarnetwork.eu> Info on the Normandy meet can be found atpackardclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=826 PS - As I look further in the PAC directory I see quite a few Packards in Europe that do use the same battery as your car calls for, so if you have no luck with the French members, you might make contact with some of these other members; look at the car ownership info for Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg, & Austria, all of which have cars that utilize the Group 2E battery. I'd guess one or more of them has source information. And if you locate a source, let us know so the next person coming along won't have to do the same research.

Hi,
@Owen : About serial numbers, I just found this one under the hood : 1672-3421 Maybe it was the second number you wanted but the steel plate is removed, as you can see in the picture below. Tomorrow my dad will see for batteries. We would finally be able to start it and hear it ! I started to fill the Packard Owner Registry but I lack informations about the car and her history. I will complete it soon. More photos of dad's Packard :bit.ly/ieaxYR Thank you all ! Benjamin

One of the features of the Owner Registry is that it is updateable. You can go in after you've made your initial entry and alter or update it to reflect additional or new information about the car. And for the link to the pic's.

Now that you have the specification and dimensions, look in the "Yellow Pages" telephone directory or equivalent, for battery specialists.
Here in North America most towns, and all cities, have battery specialists who sell batteries of all kinds, including rare types used in industrial and farm machinery.

fromparis: Yes, that number is your vehicle number. Now if it's not too much trouble, how about the large embossed number on the engine side of the cowl? That would complete the set.

Hi Benjamin,
Welcome to the wonderful world of Packards. Find out what cars that were made in France had a 6 volt battery perhaps the little Citreons deux Chevauxs or search for a VW beetle or split screen van battery that has the same amp hour rating. This will get you out of trouble. We can get them in the U.K and the postage would be cheaper. You will have to check your battery box size. Regards Terry

Hi everybody,
We finally found the good battery ! One Bosch 6V 140Ah 720A. It was not common, it took order in a shop specializing in batteries and wait 3-4 days. It is a modern style so not the same shape as the old, but after an hour of tinkering, my father installed a suitable support. I will try to continue to post pictures of work in progress on the car. She runs but there is still work to do... Thank you all for your advices. Benjamin PS : I don't forget to fill out the register, do not worry ! :)

Hello everybody,
I've a new question about the battery. Something bothers me... Is the positive must be connected to ground, and the negative on the starter ? (When I got the car, the connections were so) Thank you in advance ! Best. Beny
