I just got back from spending the weekend at our really big car show here in Minnesota. The MSRA (Minnesota Street Rod Association)Back To The 50's.

Over 11,000 cars registered this year. I only saw 1 50's era Packard, but I can't say I saw every car there.

You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a tri-5 Chev.

My goal of driving the Clipper to this years show has failed, so next years show is the new goal! Hopefully I can make it.

I shot a short video while sitting and watching some of the cars cruise by.

Thanks for posting this! I had HEARD of people putting a '55 Chevy front clip on a '56 Chevy, but until this video had never actually SEEN one!

Thanks for the clip, Keegan. I didn't make it over there this year, but it looks like your shots are from right around the same corner where I like to stand late in the day and take pics of cars as they leave. Saves a lot of shoe leather, too. There was a nice '56 Clipper there last time I was to the show. Hope to see your '55 next year!

I've been working on an attachment to the body lift that I built last winter. It should help out with some of the work I've got planned. I still need to come up with some removable wheels or dollies to make it easier to move about. But it actually slides pretty well on the smooth concrete floors.

Now I guess I'll have to actually work on the car.

Note to self: Remove fuel tank before tipping car on its side. Or at least put a bucket under the fuel door.

Thanks much for finally revealing this fantastic gadget! I thought people might begin to wonder what the "H" I was talking about. Y'know, a video of this production might be just the ticket to youtube fame.

The license plate is a nice touch.

It's been a couple of months, but I've made a little progress on the Clipper. I'll be posting some pictures and maybe a short video (got a fancy new cell phone and been itching to try out the camera).

I would really like to make some serious progress over the winter and have it back on the road by spring 2011. My plan is to try and dedicate one day per week to the car. Not a full day, but at least one day where I do something for the project.

I really like your roller - very inventive! And you are smart to dedicate one day a week to the car.
Perseverance wins the day!
