O_D, no need to place blame on anyone or anything. If I hadn't owned a '37 120 for 29 years I would have thought that was a senior car also.

...Any after the '32-'33 models look gauche with chrome-plated radiator shell and splash panels, smack of the newly-rich, look-at-me-I-got-bucks crowd. Having a Senior Packard was more than enough to let the public know the owner was well-healed. But, EGB was in business to sell motorcars, even to those with questionable taste...

In the course of years at PackardInfo I apparently forgot the approved list of officially sanctioned tastes, which obviously contains even a cross reference between commercial items and notable personality traits of their owners. Is the interpretational sovereignty of the term "enough" on the police headquarters?

Want you see him as "Powel" ... while being moved to the penitentiary to await execution...? Okay, take a blanket and some sweet titbits while I put the film into the cinematograph. Enjoy PackardInfo.com!

Let's look back at the Packard of a film star, who achieved her successes during the period of silent movies. Her name was Anna Held, who obviously needed a large car, one of those with enormous stowage space. The below mentioned image source talks about a 1919 Packard, which gives rise to questions against the backdrop of her biographical data (19 March 1872 - 12 August 1918).

My, I certainly learned a lot!

The next time I hear that tired old argument that only superior people with refined sensibilities bought Packards and that all of the neuvoux riche bought Cadillacs I will remember Miss Held.

Ross, thanks. Better to remember her curves than her Packard. I don't know if she owned the car or has just been chauffeured.

Did any stars have a 1955 Packard 400 or a Caribbean? I'd love to know... :)

Howard Hughes purchased a brand-new '55 Caribbean for his actress girlfriend (later, wife), Jean Peters. I first learned of this car in a 'retrospective' piece published in Motor Trend magazine from back in the early 1970s.

Is 1956 ok?
The car I'm talking about, was in the possession of ?dith Piaf (19 December 1915 - 10 October 1963).
THE Piaf "...was a French cabaret singer who became widely regarded as France's national diva, as well as being one of France's greatest international stars..."

I can even offer a prizewinning video clip (The Mischief Makers), where the Caribbean makes a guest appearance but just for 1 second. Be fast to catch the car!
