An associate went to look at this Biz coupe
quote { Here's a nice 51 200 2door. Asking less than $5k! You can't even get a decent paint job for that kinda money, let alone a nice car ready to take to local shows. http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/5120582405.html } He said the motor smokes worst that Churchill. I love Business coupes.

Or you can spend more $ on a 36 v12 club sedan that needs everything!

Certainly looks like a nice car. I wonder if it smokes because of issues or if there was some sort of upper cylinder lube added to the fuel and the smoke will eventually go away.

That's too bad that the motor smokes but as others point out, we don't know why. I am not a flathead knoweldgeable guy but I know on OHV motors there were only 3-4 reasons for an oil burning situation. It could be running rich.
On CL, there always seems to be a reason a car is modestly priced and doesn't sell right away. In this case I am not sure I would be dissuaded at that price. The worst case scenario is a partial engine rebuild but you would still be ahead. I agree it makes no difference to me that this is a bottom line Packard, it's a well executed design with 8 cyl power and a period nice interior. Somebody buy it!

Hi
One supposes that '32 Light Eight will set for another few years....until it goes in the owner's estate sale! At least its housed for now. Back to our efforts on behalf of wayward Packards: A '49 22nd Eight partially-finish project, looks as if a good deal of the hard, expensive work is done: http://flint.craigslist.org/cto/5106406880.html The '50 Super Deluxe Eight bargain in WI, price lowering: http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/5125618083.html A rough '51 300, stick shift, maybe OD parts car: http://syracuse.craigslist.org/cto/5119194586.html A '54 Patrician, looks solid, rough interior, looks like a good start for a desirable topline Packard cheap: http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/5120532760.html Steve

I like the 54 Patrician for what you get for $2500. Plus it is a nice black.
The 50 Super Deluxe has been on here before as you know.
