Tim, very attentiv. Four eyes see more than two as we say in Germany.
But please keep in mind the 800 miles which lie between Warsaw and Moscow (about the same between Nevada and Denver). And there is a mountain of furs on the backseat (#1). Heavy furs. The driver looks as big as a grizzly (#2). It was cold in January 1930 in Warsaw but not very cold. The breathing air isn't condensed and other photographs taken that day show participants without gloves. Moreover the hunting party consists of bad prepared city dwellers, filled with adrenaline upon first sight of a stuffed squirrel. sources image #1, #2 - State Archives Poland license: public domain temperature profile - weatherspark.com Click to enlarge! The snow on the ground looks to be frozen as does that driver. But the equipment in the back looks to be in the process of being unloaded, so maybe that picture was taken at a train station. The guy in the rear car is properly dressed and the front car has a tonneau cover in place. I don't know where they are to go, but five minutes at anything above a trot and those top are going up.
Sedans are tolerable in full winter clothing even without a heater, but those touring cars are colder than a China Clipper in winter because a sailing ship is moving with the wind.

I secretely hoped to earn a bit of praise when providing even the tempratures of this location in January 1930.
![]() Today, the tread will move into a region, where snow is not high on the agenda. ![]() Please find below an image of two Packards in the posession of the royal court of General Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbasi, who was the first ruler of Bahawalpur for almost two decades. ![]() Bahawalpur was a princely state and is a part of Pakistan today. A pennant is attached to the goddes of speed of the RHD car on the left. The cover of its spare wheel seems to be coated for sun protection. images #1 - wikipedia #2 - antiquecars.com.pk Click to enlarge!

Thanks for the great picture!
No, that ornament is not a Lalique, it's one of the standard factory offerings. And the coachwork is standard Packard coachwork, not a LeBaron.

Dave (O-D), thank you for proofreading, I mistook the car from Iceland with the 1942 LeBaron from the King of Norway.

Is that style of hood ornament called a "feather"?
