Do any owners try to dress the part when they are out "Packarding"?

I have a couple of shows to attend this summer where is it encouraged

I've got the fedora and the 20's style collarless shirt, but the right trousers (pants to you lot!) are hard to come by.

I suppose a very old tailor could help you or possibly a vintage clothing store. There was some very sturdy material made prewar and I bet there are still a few whistles hanging about.

The idea of appropriate dress is a good one. You don't need to go to the trouble most of the time but for special occasions why not?

Incidentally the pic you chose is of the cast of Bonnie and Clyde and was taken in 1967. This is a small peeve of mine, the idea that all 30s American cars belonged to gangsters and should be accessorized with tommy guns, bullet holes and bootleg whiskey bottles. In the same way that all Rolls Royces were custom built for the Royal Family and all MGs were raced at LeMans. I don't think.

Is Gene Hackman about to shoot the foot of the kid with '94 Winchester or is the kid with the sawed off shotgun going to shoot Hackman in the groin? Either way neither of these guys should be allowed anywhere near a gun!

Check out Fedora Lounge for help with your trousers. It's a great site about all things "Golden Era."

With my 32 Coupe Roadster, I have a golfing outfit with knickers. I wore it at a concours and I thought I at least get considered for best presentation along with a lady in Victorian garb. They gave it to a V-16 Cadillac chassis. The HCCA club I belong to is very much into vintage dressing up when they go touring.

Dave, at the time of the filming the kid (Michael J. Pollard) was at the age of 28 - well, we are all God's Chillun.
