I have a 51 Packard-Henny hearse pretty complete.

I have built street/hod rods in the past.

should I go street "PS/PB/AUTO/AC etc...."
or go for restore?

What worries me with restore is that the parts and supply places don't seem to know this model.

I hope this is the right place to post this .

Any help appreciated.

Mechanically your car shouldn't be that difficult to find parts for. Possibly some trouble with specialty items used for ambulance/hearse etc. Have you tried Max Merritt? Patrician Industries,Tuscon Packard Parts, Or Kanter? Any of them should be able to help. I might have some mechanical parts if you don't find what yo need. I doubt that I have anything they don't however.

Smokey,

Welcome to the site, as 49packard said there are people here with experience who can help and advise.

I don't have any Henny experience unfortunately but suggest the following: Have a look in the Owner Registry there are a few there and then send PM's to the owners. Might help in your search for parts.

And if you haven't already done so, could you please enter your '51 Henny in the Registry together with a pic, and history if known?

Again

In addition to going thru the PAC directory and making contact with other Henney owners for parts leads, one other possibility is the Professional Car Society which caters to owners of limos, hearses, ambulances and flower cars.

First, let me say thanks for the responses.

I have looked for info and found a little but I still don't know much about the Henny Hearse. For example I can't find a pic of the back showing what attached above the tail light (fin?).

My overall type question is this so rare I shouldn't even consider street mods?

The car actually belongs to my daughter who left it here years ago. She had bought it for her and dad to fix up. Then she moved to Dallas, got married, etc...

The car is under tarps right now but when I uncover I'll get pics.

Thanks again for the tips, I'll follow them.
