I hate to say this.....but that "creature" should really have a date with the crusher, and lets all forget we ever saw that.

Couldn't find a picture handy but the white one that was/is running around Southern Calif area is very tastefully done. Proportioned right and could well have been factory had they actually made one.

Don't remember if was actually made by Earl C Anthony dealership as a parts chaser or by individual and just has the name painted on door. If someone has a picture to post for comparison.

Description in eBay reads - ".....customized into an El Camino type vehicle Strait 8......Would make a nice street rod for some one........been sitting in a Garage for the past 35 years."

Someone has seen potential or inspiration in this car and invested considerable time and effort in making it. Being done over 35 years ago it has it's own history as well as a Packard pedigree/heritage. Although not 100% Packard, from my perspective, it deserves to be afforded credit for what it is. Don't know about "a nice street rod" but I for one would love to have a Packard "parts chaser" like that.

Here is one off the Hemmings site, found at the Hershey Meet in 2007. I actually like this one! (bad tailgate though).

See that one isnt half-bad as it maintains all the body lines. I think with a reworked tailgate, it would be a nice conversion.

I am really partial to the pre-war shop truck conversions. Those look really sharp!

I always thought that a tailgate from a Studebaker station wagon would work better and look better, IMHO.
