It is for sure a unique blue. I have never seen another Bikini Blue car at the any of the Packard events I have been to.

A significant milestone in plain sight, congratulations. Who knows, once painted, your daughters might even like to be seen in Dad's Packard! A previous post of yours "Had to pick up my teenage daughters from school today....So I picked them up in the Packard. Oh I should have brought a camera...the look on their faces was priceless, when old "Rusty" pulled up to the curb. They quickly got in and slouched down in the seat trying not to be seen, and then we were off in a puff for blue smoke.", together with where you are now, reminded me of this!

Drove by the paint shop yesterday and the car has been moved from the side storage lot into the work area. So I guess they have started working on it.
Managed to find and pull all of the interior pieces that need to be paint out of their spider holes. Plan is to get these all prepped and painted before that car comes back. Will still need to paint the steering column shroud when it comes back from the paint shop. I have a non-cracked deluxe wheel at home that will get painted with the interior pieces. Also Metro Moulded Rubber makes different colored door locks knob which may work as a replacement for the press on type used on '54 cars that get damaged when removed.

Updated on the Clipper:
Just spoke to the paint shop, they are basically done with the blocking and it will get a little primer touch up be ready for sealer and paint by about Wednesday. At that time I will go in with the hood hinges so they can put the hood back on the car for the exterior paint, and for them to so a spray a test card for me to sign off on the color match.

I was going to repaint the dash in an oil based enamel (basically that is what was originally used), and the local hardware store had no problem coming up with a color match to the original color.
Problem is that they are no longer allowed to mix custom colors in oil based, only water based. C.A.R.B. strikes again. Looks like I will have to go to the local Jobber and get it single stage acrylic enamel instead. I was hoping to save some cash as the difference is $25 a gallon for oil based, vs $100+ a gallon for Single Stage with the activator and reducer. I may see if I can get by with a quart, but still the local Jobber charges to do the color match, so that still adds to the price.
