Today I got both door handles, door beltline trim on both doors on, and The windows installed in the wind up/down Tracks with a mixture of rubber and plastic washers made out of an old ice cream container. I'm happy with the doors. I also sealed the windshield and started fighting to get the trim surrounding the windshield on. Any tips here would be much appreciated. I found the "string method" helpfull. Should I use soap here too?

From reading Big Kev's project blog, the string method combined with dish soap is the way to go. My locking strip is already in, hope that doesn't block me from getting the trim on. I suppose I could take the locking strip out if need be.
-thanks Ross and Charlie! It's slow going, but I like it, and am glad to see positive remarks. (Color is from the 55/56 color code)

Windshield trim went in today. Soap! Lots of dish soap helped a lot. I also used an 8inch long piece of fuel pipe 5/16? As a tool to place the string in the gasket. Worked very well. Also glued the weatherstrip around the drivers door. Hope she still closes when the weatherstrip is on there.

Thanks Ross! After using the soap, the trim went in ok. I had one helper, and it was not super easy, but ok. Here is a pic of the "tool" that I used to get the shoe lace string under the lip of the rubber gasket.
The glue dried on the drivers door gasket, and now the door doesn't close! I guess I saw that coming. I suppose I can adjust the striker plate out a little bit, and will also trim the door rubber. Argh

I ran new wires to the turnsignals and installed those. I've been getting up early and working an hour in the garage before going to work each day. Nice quiet time for me. I ran an extra ground line from the housing to the ground point junction up on the fender. I hope that helps me with bright turn signals. -All wires crimped, then soldered and shrink wrapped. Face is starting to fill in with the turn signals in...

Lets see, side trim is on! My father in law made new clips that screw on from the backside and allow me to close all those holes in the doors and fenders so less water gets into the car. Looks a lot better now! We also got the electrical system working.
Bad grounds on the tail lights housings, turn signals and reverse lights had me confused for a while, but it was easy to scrape off paint and now things are looking good. Horns also work. Man, I love those loud horns. I did a job I haaaaate! I crawled under the dash and pulled back the spring loaded wheels for the wipers and stuck a drill bit in there! What a job, now I just need to run the wiper cables and screw on the wiper pivots! Also wired up the license plate lamp this morning. Made a new sub harness for that also with ground wire... Today I went to the post office and got a set of 3 point belts. The same that Hans has in his 52. Hope to install those soon, but may have to re-enforce the B pillar mounting area. Getting close to on the road!
