Hi Ross. That looks awesome. What is your procedure for re-painting the gas and temp gauges? Do you mask over the white marks for full/empty etc, or repaint them in white after spraying with the red? I still have to re-do mine.

The original white marks are still visible after painting over with the translucent red. This time I repainted them with a very fine brush. Other times I have cut out little triangles from white stick-on letter vinyl and rubbed them on. The cut out vinyl looks sharper.

A little off Packard topics, but thought you might like to see a little Studebaker Lark I made into a "Ute" for a local customer. It's cuter than a bug's ear.

Neat little '61 Lark 'Ute' there. They offered two door Lark station wagon during 1959-'61, why they didn't build their version of a Ranchero/Elcamino is anyone's guess.

Is that one of the Sunset Boulevard shop '38 Darrins next to it?

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.

Very well done. The Packups are nice but, IMO, this one could and should have been a production model that would have easily competed with the Rancheros or El Caminos.

Just think of the fun you will have in a few years when the car has probably gone to the big scrapyard where all good cars go. Photos of the "ute" will surface again and while some will ask what it is and get a good explanation, a few will fall prey to an "authority" who will definitively state it was a rare model exported to foreign markets.

Have just finished up a 53 Packup, #11 for a gentleman in North Dakota. Ultramatic, powerbrakes and AC. He said he wanted a red one.
