It's got a 288 in it. They show up with regularity. You should be able to get one for $500 or less, maybe much less.

Concerning engine mounts on 22nd/23rd Series Packards, I've a faint memory
 that "someone" had posted that Packard changed from the front yoke engine mount type to side of engine mounts about that era of Packard. Can anyone confirm or refute that? If true, would be good for the OP to know so he's looking for the right engine to fit his Packard.

If the block is bad and you are keeping the balance of the components, then ANY 48-54 288 or 5 main bearing 327 block will do. Where are you? I can fix you right up here in Maryland.
