Looking really nice sir!
I am curious Kev, how is the accelerator linkage been addressed with the Jaguar engine? I can see that the rod is there for the go pedal, but the cross linkage is not on the toe panel. Is the linkage and carb now on the drivers side?
I will need to do some 'McGivering' to mine too to get it to play nice with the 327 4BBL, the previous owner never got that far. The fan and rad shell will be another thing I will have to address once I get the engine back from the rebuilders

The throttle linkage is a bit of a rube Goldberg setup at the moment and you can see that rod near the bottom of the firewall on the transmission. That's the throttle linkage. It a wide u-shape so the pedal presses on one leg of the U which pushes down the other leg of the U on the other side of the engine. That leg is connected to a small cable that the pulls down on the SU Carb throttle lever.

It will be something I address later.

I see that now.
When you are designing the new linkage, think precision bushings/rods and healthy return springs. Sticky linkage can ruin your day!
My 'new' Chrysler had a recall on the accelerator cable because the twisted internal cable sprang a wire and could lodge inside the casing. Don't mind them on bicycle brakes but I prefer proper mechanisms on cars.

Does anyone have any pictures of the harness routing under the car between the cowl and the tail light section?

Started working on the engine cover plate for the fire wall. I used heavy card stock and tape to build a mock cover. Then once that fit fairly well, I cut it apart and flattened it so I could trace and cut it out a one large piece from 16ga steel. Tomorrow I'll tackle trying to fold it back into shape. I did it this way as it requires the least amount of welding, just alot of origami. 16ga is not very easy to bend.

Around here, we call that using "CAD" -- cardboard aided design.

First rough pass on the engine cover plate. Bending 16ga requires a big hammer and some relief cuts.

Someone once told me if you can't be a great welder, be an excellent grinder. I'm an excellent grinder.

Still need to patch in some pieces and clean up the flanges, and copious grinding. Then drill all the mounting holes and install the nutserts.

But its getting there.
