My 49 Standard 8 was repainted at some point from the original gold color. Does anyone has any info on what the current paint color might be?

A paint chart that I found on the web list colors close to it as Maumee Maize or Corona Cream.

This paint chip also shows a Packard Ivory that looks like it could be a possibility. Might not even be a Packard color.

Where I grew up in the 50s, remember a chain outfit that filled airwaves with a commercial that went something like "I'll paint any car any color for $29.95". Did a thriving business but if you wanted paint that lasted longer than the first good rain or didn't fancy half the chrome being painted too then it cost more.

almost impossible to determine without knowing when and by whom the re-paint was done. Fading, etc. will change the pigments over time.
If it was a factory "gold car", then it's a rare bird - 50th anniversary car. 1 of ~400.
If you want to match or paint something 23 series period the paint charts are on this site and/or TCP Global "autocolorlibrary.com" archive. They can match some of the paint colors.

ps: Uncle Earl is still in business at some franchise locations I thought? He's long passed on and the business went out in 2010.

I feel your pain, as mine was repainted from Egyptian Sand to what I call “post-it note” yellow see for yourself!
I have bon-do in the rockers on both sides so I know repainting mine will certainly be down the road……wonder if its true that the Packards of the forties and fifties will survive an EM pulse?
I thought about a ‘49 burgundy below, and ‘49 gray on the roof top, love to see what one would look like in the scheme…🤔

If authenticity in this matter is important to you, check what the factory paint schemes were for 23rd series. Only a few combinations of the production colors were offered (and I don't think the one you like is among them).

Post-it note yellow is funny. Are the door jams the same color as the exterior? Mine is a repaint from the gold lacquer with an 'R' paint code on the VN tag and Gold paint on the firewall and under the hood to fender rubber bumpers, The gold paint deteriorated rapidly from UV exposure and the 2,000 or so 50 year anniversary cars were repainted. Colors like Packard Ivory, Maumee Maize and Corona Cream look similar to Post-it note yellow on the paint chip charts.
