Good to see "OUR" engine all crated up and ready for the next step in it's return to health.
You're doing a great job Kev, keep it up!

The carrier never came to pick up the shipment today, and now the terminal is closed. So have to get ahold of them tomorrow and see what the heck is going on.

Apparently the contracted carrier (Estes) local distribution hub didn't have a lift gate truck available, so was never scheduled for pickup. Yet the carrier never through to reach out to me with that information. I'll see what their dispatch says in the morning, otherwise I'll have FreightQuote cancel that carrier and send a out different one.
I guess my definition of customer service and communication is different than the carriers.

I raised some hell this morning with the local dispatcher. They assured me the truck would be there between Noon and 5 pm. There was a knock on the door at 12:01pm.
The driver had a powered pallet jack and made quick work of it. Jackard motor officially in route to Texas.

And with luck you will have an uneventful delivery and quick answer as to how much needs to be done -- lets hope the carrier does not decide he needs a completely full trailer before the delivery and takes one of the scenic routes to pick up more freight in all the major cities east or west of Texas. The rate small and some bigger carriers seem to be going under it must not be a very profitable business anymore.

Shipping options for large/heavy items are for sure getting less. I shipped those rechromed bumpers for the '37 from Calif for about $125.i literally put a piece of cardboard between and the crudly wrapped them in cardboard. It looked like the comical gift wrapped hockey stick. But FedEx took it and shipped it.
But options for other large items through places like Greyhound are no longer and option. They have divested from that business. The motor is supposed to be there Monday or Tuesday. We shall see!
