Looking good I always like the look of Jaguar products. Their body, interior, even engine outside they have always looked classy. The finish was always first rate to look at . Hope when back it runs as well as they look good packaging of engine.

The carrier never came to pick up the shipment today, and now the terminal is closed. So have to get ahold of them tomorrow and see what the heck is going on.

Apparently the contracted carrier (Estes) local distribution hub didn't have a lift gate truck available, so was never scheduled for pickup. Yet the carrier never through to reach out to me with that information. I'll see what their dispatch says in the morning, otherwise I'll have FreightQuote cancel that carrier and send a out different one.

I guess my definition of customer service and communication is different than the carriers.

I raised some hell this morning with the local dispatcher. They assured me the truck would be there between Noon and 5 pm. There was a knock on the door at 12:01pm.

The driver had a powered pallet jack and made quick work of it.

Jackard motor officially in route to Texas.

And with luck you will have an uneventful delivery and quick answer as to how much needs to be done -- lets hope the carrier does not decide he needs a completely full trailer before the delivery and takes one of the scenic routes to pick up more freight in all the major cities east or west of Texas. The rate small and some bigger carriers seem to be going under it must not be a very profitable business anymore.

Shipping options for large/heavy items are for sure getting less. I shipped those rechromed bumpers for the '37 from Calif for about $125.i literally put a piece of cardboard between and the crudly wrapped them in cardboard. It looked like the comical gift wrapped hockey stick. But FedEx took it and shipped it.

But options for other large items through places like Greyhound are no longer and option. They have divested from that business.

The motor is supposed to be there Monday or Tuesday. We shall see!

You may have read the trouble I had getting the long 1951 Henney tail pipe shipped as the COVID lockdown was taking hold. The part itself was $175 and weighed less than 10 lbs but its length was the problem. The first quote was over $300 which very quickly escalated to over $3000 through FedEx and UPS but finally Alaska Air Freight delivered it for just over $100 although it took over a year to come up with them as a possibility.

With the motor enroute, it time to get back to the body work and rust repair.

So starting to driverside, I marked well above the rotted metal and make sure I was into good thick stuff, and the cut out the section leaving about 1/4" of sides up to the flanges.

Once I made the top and side cuts the panel pretty much fell away as whatever was metal was along the bottom had long ago rotted away.

So the next question for anyone that had their 115/120 convertible coupe or regular couple apart, what doesn't the "floor" piece look like. The body on this car has been off before and the all floor framing and wood replaced. I imagine when that was done, whatever dangling rotted metal that forms the floor of that "well" between the bottom of the outer skin and over to the wood framing was long discarded then. So I just need to understand the basic shape of that piece and where in connects to. Does slip between the rocker and bottom of the wood framing? Does it extend up the side and over the wood framing? Etc.

I can see that the bottom of outer skin forms a trough life lip. There is also a cast iron b-pillar mount there so tring to under where the missing floor sits in relating to that. I would imagine the it extended underneath it between the wood the mount.

Looking through the newly made hole, the black metal on the bottom is the top of the rocker which bolts into the bottom of the wood framing.

This is what it looks like looking down from the inside.

So if anyone has a picture looking down into that well from the top, I think that would answer many of my questions

Basic outer skin patch made. I won't install this until I get some answers on what the inner piece looks like.
